EVENTS

Whether you’re hosting an event in Hertfordshire, London or somewhere else in the country - we’ll be there! Filming an event as it happens is probably one of our favourite things to do. Seeing the day unfold, interviewing people, sampling food, learning new things gets us all excited. Many events can last a whole day but some only a couple of hours. We don’t mind how long or short your event is, we’re just glad to be a part of it!

RS Events

RS Events

RS Events is a Lancashire based events company. They were having an open day to show off some of their items available for hire plus their new tipi. We also included some timelapse footage from the day which helped give a feel for the tipi and how many people attended. Here is Nick to explain how the day went.

Cake Smash

Cake Smash

What is a cake smash?” I get asked. It’s an American tradition to celebrate a 1-year-olds birthday by letting them smash a cake and be photographed in the process. This is never normally filmed, but on this occasion, we filmed one. We’re quite proud of how it turned out!

Building Futures
Conference

An evening of celebrating sustainability, innovation and design excellence in the building industry in Hertfordshire. Following straight on from the conference, the shoot required capturing the awards and giving an overall view of the evening itself. After dinner the awards were presented. It was a good atmosphere and it was great to see everyone out enjoying themselves instead of being behind a computer screen.

Unilever
‘This is Home’

As part of their resident wellbeing in action programme. Leaders and respected figures from the care industry were invited to the event to discuss issues most important to the care sector. The focus was on helping those living with dementia.

We had the freedom to film everything happening on the day but had to make sure we captured key people. It was vital we had a good variety of shots because text was later introduced, and we needed to make sure these people were seen long enough on screen.

Prosecco Pound

Prosecco Pound

The Prosecco Pound event was filmed over 2 hours in a very small venue above a pub. The event became so popular that we soon started running out of space. Therefore, pre-planning had been really helpful. We were able to get in early and film set up shots and film interviews all before everyone turned up. The result was a highlight film and a slightly longer one with interviews.

Lee and Dean

Lee and Dean - The Making of...
Bingo Productions

We were incredibly honoured to be asked by the television production company, Bingo Productions to document the making of their new Channel 4 comedy series.

During the 4 week shoot we interviewed the cast on their characters and the show itself, created little mementoes for the director and producers, ate some wonderful food, laughed A LOT and travelled to Great Yarmouth for the final week’s shoot-oh the glamour!

The film is interlaced with the an interview with the director and producers where they discuss the shoot, what they loved about the shoot and how much footage they had to cut out.

Metro Pub Co Syndicate Superstars Competition in Association with Estrella Damm

Syndicate Superstars competition is hosted by Metro Pub Company. Here 4 pubs compete for the title of Pub Of The Year. We had the pleasure of filming this event as it happened and got to witness some beautifully presented food. As this commission was filming only and didn’t include editing, we made sure we filmed more footage than we would normally. When we are filming and editing the footage ourselves, we usually have a story in mind. So this time we had to make sure the team had plenty of footage to choose from as we didn’t know what story they had in mind. It’s interesting to see how differently people interpret your work and use shots you might have otherwise disregarded.

London Marathon
Sports Therapy UK

During the London Marathon, Sports Therapy UK supply sports therapists to various charities who then give massages to the runners after the race. Director Tim Paine wanted to showcase what happens on the day and how it ties in with the Level 3 Sports Massage course they offer.

We spent the day with the team interviewing the therapists before and after the event to document their experience. We also interviewed some of the runners as their stories were just as important and reinforced how important a sports massage is for runners post-race.
