COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Community Projects is our first love when it comes to making videos. We love to see an idea grow into a fully-fledged project that’s helping communities in every way possible.

What gets us out of bed in the mornings is being able to capture projects making a difference and sharing it with the world. Some have been captured in a day, others over several months. No matter how you need your project capturing, we’ll be as flexible as possible.

Here’s a small example of what we’ve worked on.

Parkwood Surgery – NHS Explainer Video

As part of the ongoing initiative to streamline services within the NHS, Parkwood Surgery were moving their online repeat prescription service online. They needed a simple explainer video to tell patients about the changes and how they can get involved.

Healthy Hub - North Herts

The North Herts Healthy Hub video came about as a reaction to the pandemic. How could the community get support whilst the hub was unable to meet people face to face? This video lets people know what the hub is for and how they can get in touch, as well as a very brief demonstration on the content of their website.

Generations Together

The Generations Together Project by North Herts District Council is about bringing children and older adults together for an hour of fun to reduce loneliness. Filmed over 3-4 months, we were able to capture the real fun spirit of the project. Everyone involved had a really good time and during the interviews, it was discovered how much the children loved biscuits!

The project was so successful that NHDC decided to run it again and we were lucky enough to be asked back to capture it.

Meet and Eat

Meet and Eat is a health and wellbeing program aimed at the over 50s. Once a week they meet and prepare a 2 course meal together, eat and chat. It’s aim is to beat loneliness, build friendships, learn new skills and eat healthy food.

Filming took place within East and North Herts. It’s a great promotional video that showcases the benefits for the participants and hopefully will encourage other councils or organisations to run a similar project.

Men's Mental Health

Working with Mind in Mid Herts and East Herts Council, this campaign had one simple aim- To show men that it is ok to not be ok, it’s ok to cry and have feelings.

Four men shared their stories and were really honest about their journeys with mental health. The final film launched with 3 teaser trailers the week before to raise awareness for the film. The film received great feedback with some men commenting “I really needed this-thank you”.

A shorter version of the film was shown at half time during the Premier league match of Watford Vs Bournemouth as part of Watford’s Mental Health Awareness day.

Asian and Community Cooking

A healthy eating project for the Asian community.
East Herts Council had commissioned this film to go alongside a booklet. The booklet contains healthy recipes and gives options on how to change items for more healthier choices.

Filmed over 2 day half days, we filmed with a 2 camera set up and filmed 3 dishes being made. Working alongside nutritionist Sarah Scotland gave the film accreditation and helped back up all the health statements in the booklet.

Project managing and editing this project was a real joy and it was great to experience authentic Asian cooking and trying new things. The project is a great demonstration of how it’s always great to experiment and not stick to the rules.
